Pocket DV is designed to work without an account, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics. Your camera and microphone data are used on your device to create recordings.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pocket DV handles information when you use the app. Pocket DV does not require an account and does not operate a service that receives or stores your recordings.

Device permissions

Pocket DV may ask for the following iOS permissions only when they are needed:

Camera — to show the viewfinder and record video.
Microphone — to record sound with your video.
Add to Photos — to save a finished video to your Photos library when you choose Save.

You can review or change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Recordings and media

Recordings created in Pocket DV are stored locally in the app’s storage on your device. A video is added to the Photos library only after you choose to save it. If you use the iOS share sheet, the destination you select handles the shared video under its own terms and privacy policy.

Removing the app may delete recordings that exist only in Pocket DV and have not been saved elsewhere.

Data collection

The current version of Pocket DV does not include an advertising SDK or analytics SDK. Pocket DV does not create user profiles, sell personal information, or use your recordings to train artificial intelligence models.

Purchases

Optional purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pocket DV receives purchase entitlement information needed to unlock paid features, but it does not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Children’s privacy

Pocket DV does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not require an account or send recordings to us, we do not maintain a database of child users.

Changes to this policy

If Pocket DV’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

Website and support messages

When you visit this website, the hosting provider may process IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the site. If you voluntarily email support, we use the email address, issue description and attachments you provide to respond and troubleshoot. Please share only the information needed for your request.
